Chapter 33 - Post 9/11 GI Bill®
For individuals who served on active-duty on or after 09/10/01 and have an honorable discharge, servicemembers and their dependents may be eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill®. Under the Post 9/11 GI Bill® students may be eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program. *Currently, Baylor University only offers Yellow Ribbon to eligible Undergraduate students.*
Tuition and Fee Payments:
- Private School Tuition and Fee Cap - For Undergraduate students who meet eligibility requirements, tuition and mandatory fees not covered by the cap may be covered through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
- Baylor can only request the VA pay applicable tuition and mandatory fees for courses required for your degree program.
- Mandatory fees include the General Student Fee, Administrative Fee, Matriculation Fee, Laboratory/Course Fee(s), Chapel Fee, HSB Information Resource Fee, Applied Music Fee, and Student Bar Association Fee (Law students).

Housing Stipends/BAH:
For each month that you are attending classes, students will receive a monthly housing stipend/BAH around the first day of the following month. For example, for the month of August, you will receive that payment on/around September 1st. For partial months of attendance stipends, are pro-rated. For example, August and December are pro-rated for the Fall semester. This may include special terms, modules, or stand-alone terms.
The housing stipend/BAH is paid directly to the student. To continue receiving the monthly housing stipend, students must verify enrollment with the VA at the end of each month. For questions on the VA’s enrollment verification, visit the GI Bill® Enrollment Verification page.
You will receive a monthly stipend payment if you are not active duty or an active-duty spouse. The monthly BAH payment can be viewed using the GI Bill® Comparison Tool.
Please note, that if enrolled in an online degree program, you must be at 'more than 1/2-time status' to receive BAH. For example, OMBA students are considered full-time at 6 hours or more. If you are enrolled in 3 OMBA hours, chances are you will not receive BAH because you are not considered 'more than 1/2-time status' in an online program.
NOTE: These amounts are based on 100% eligibility. If your eligibility percentage is below 100%, the payments will be calculated based on your percentage.
Books and Supplies Stipends:
The books and supplies stipend is paid directly to the student. The book supplies payment result is $41.67 per credit hour up to $1000 per academic year. NOTE: These amounts are based on 100% eligibility. If your eligibility percentage is below 100%, the payments will be prorated at your percentage.
