Instructional Method Details & Set-up
Face To Face (F2F) Instruction:
Sections that meet on assigned days, at designated times, on or off-campus.
IMPORTANT: Should be designated as F2F Instructional Method in CLSS
Hybrid (HYB) Instruction:
Sections that combine the use of in-person class meetings and online instruction.
*It is particularly important to select HYB instructional method if you require even ONE in-person requirement in your otherwise online course.*
Examples of Hybrid learning include:
- A course meets once at the beginning of the term. All the rest of the training is conducted online.
- A course requires students to physically attend class once a week for 1-hour. All the rest of the training is conducted online.
- A course requires students to meet in class for the first day of term and attend all mid-terms and finals in person. All the rest of the training is conducted online.
- The instructor (or teaching assistant) meets students face-to-face and then supplements those sessions with online asynchronous activities.
- The instructor builds in online components to supplement the face-to-face component as circumstance necessitates.
- Students meet mostly online but are then required to attend in-person to a Clinical or Immersion experience.
IMPORTANT: Should be designated as HYB Instructional Method in CLSS
Synchronous (SYN) Online Instruction:
Sections that include specified days and times for instruction for which students should plan to be available for class participation online.

Asynchronous (ONL) Online Instruction:
Sections that do not include specified days or times.
IMPORTANT: Should be designated as ONL Instructional Method in CLSS
