CIM & CAT Deadlines 2027-28 - All Catalogs
To assist with the CIM & CAT submission process and help you to remember deadlines, please refer to the timeline below, as it describes what is due and when. Please communicate these deadlines to the people in your unit who are responsible for curriculum changes, as these deadlines are very important. If you have questions related to how your proposal would be impacted by these deadlines, please make sure to reach out to coursehelp@baylor.edu or programhelp@baylor.edu prior to the deadline.
CIM Opens: 8/1/2026.
Terms included in the 2027-2028 catalog are Fall 2027, Spring 2028, and Summer 2028.

Inactivate Program (External Review Required)
Baylor is required to submit a teach-out plan for approval from The Commission (SACSCOC) as soon as we decide to stop admitting new students to a program. If you decide to close (stop admitting any students) to a program—even if for a future Catalog term—please notify ie@baylor.edu for next steps.
Applies to: Major (Degree), Certificate-Stand Alone, Joint Degree (with an external institution – not Dual or Accelerated)

Program Proposal Deadline Additional Considerations
SACSCOC
For a substantive change requiring approval by the Executive Council of the Board of Trustees (which meets year-round), the submission deadlines are:
- January 1 for changes to be implemented July 1 through December 31 of the same calendar year, and
- July 1 for changes to be implemented January 1 through June 30 of the subsequent calendar year.

Degree Audit Updates

^ Important notes regarding Degree Audit target date:
- Degree Audit updates cannot begin on program proposals with insufficient information. Please include all relevant degree audit details within the program proposal.
- More complex degree audit encoding projects may require additional time for completion and will be discussed with individual academic units.
- Degree Audit updates for program proposals approved after Feb. 1 (or for which sufficient update information is not received until this date) will be processed in the order received.
